be development of teaching-learning courses on the topic of the Time Bank to accommodate an
aged society. In the case of Siam University, the theme of a “Time Bank to accommodate an aged
society” has been integrated with teaching and learning in general education courses under the
subject of “Opening the World to Community.”
5) In addition, the Project has integrated “Time Bank to accommodate an aged society”
learning for youth in the area by cooperating with the Wayabut Youth Group, which is a gathering of
youth in the area with acting skills. The youth created a puppet show to present the principles and
operation model of the Time Bank to accommodate an aged society at the Hybrid Expo on July 2,
2022 at Siam University. Thus, Siam University should be considered more than just a network
partner; the university can also be considered as one of the important centers on integrating learning
for young people in the area who have communication skills to work with.
Core Project Activity # 4: Public information dissemination
Results of implementation in Phase 1: Communication to the public by presenting
lessons learned from the activities of ThaiHealth Time Bank network
Since 2019, ThaiHealth, together with its network partners, have been supporting
implementation of the Time Bank concept to help Thai communities adjust to an aging society. As
a group, the network members are implementing the Time Bank concept across a wide range of
geographic contexts and perspectives. Therefore, ThaiHealth sees the importance of disseminating
the understanding of the benefits and challenges of operating a Time Bank by consolidating the
operational experience of its network partners, and distilling a set of lessons learned. The following
are key activities:
1) ThaiHealth and network partners brainstormed to determine the format of presentations
of lessons learned from the Time Bank operations under different contexts, perspectives, and
working process of each network partner. However, the constraints imposed by Covid containment
measures meant that ThaiHealth and its network partners required more time than planned to
exchange information and extract the common lessons. The partners had to use online platforms
and small group exchange to summarize progress and prepare for broader dissemination events for
the general public.
