Open courses. We went over and we took this really fancy,
there's a golf tour company called Perry Golf over there and
they have these custom coaches that are like little private jets
that you go you know, facing club seats and you get pampered
and we played the old course on Carnoustie. All of the British
Open courses, we went for two weeks and here's a picture of
the guys. That was what I said in mind and I created a new
course to do it.
Dean Jackson: 00:46:09 But the thing is that it worked so well. This was actually not that
first trip, this was the third annual once in a lifetime Scotland
Golf Experience because it became an annual event after we got
hooked on going the first time there. You know, I started
playing that game with myself of creating new things. I got this
in that same year. I had a Porsche 911 that I got from just
playing that game and creating that with myself. If you can get
hooked on this kind of game, it's so much more fun than
Fortnight or Madden or whatever. This is a game where you can
actually get real stuff instead of like, you know, virtual stuff for
your avatar. This is real world. I have been doing this now, so I
do these events where I'll have a small group, 12 or 15 people in
a board room and we spend three days and they're $5000
events and I've been sending this same email now for six years
to the same list. I'd go all over the world every year. I just got
back.
Dean Jackson: 00:47:22 I went to Toronto, London, Amsterdam, California, Sydney and I
do a lot of them in Orlando but here's the basic thing. "Sydney
Mastermind", charged neutral subject line. "Hi Stephen, I'm
doing a small group mastermind at the end of August in Sydney
to go deep in applying the profit actors. Would you like to join
us? Dean." Now that little email there, that's exactly the same
email that I send every single month that I'm doing one, I'll
change it out and say, "Amsterdam" or "Toronto" or "Orlando"
or wherever I'm doing the event. I get all of these people who
are now ready 'cause people get ready at different points, right?
Different times, that when they're ready, they'll respond and
say, "Oh, tell me more." Notice I didn't put in any of the details
about it. The greatest thing about email marketing is that we
have the opportunity to truly engage in a dialogue with people,
right?
Dean Jackson: 00:48:24 Imagine if you can change and adapt your message with
information as you're going forward. I remember when I first
started studying marketing in the early 90s, before the internet,
I remember reading things like, from Robert Collier and Claud
Hopkins and all these old guys that were sending direct mail for
