โดยสรุป คือ การยกขออางหรือหลักฐาน 4 (the four principal appeals to authority) คือ

1. พุทธาปเทส (ยกเอาพระพุทธเจาขึ้นอาง — Buddhàpadesa: the appeal to the
Enlightened One as authority)

2. สังฆาปเทส (ยกเอาคณะสงฆขึ้นอาง — Saïghàpadesa: the appeal to a community

of monks or an Order as authority)
3. สัมพหุลัตเถราปเทส (ยกเอาพระเถระจํ านวนมากขึ้นอาง — Sambahulattheràpadesa:

the appeal to a number of elders as authority) เรียกงายๆ วา สัมพหุลเถราปเทส

4. เอกัตเถราปเทส (ยกเอาพระเถระรูปหนึ่งขึ้นอาง — Ekattheràpadesa: the appeal to
a single elder as authority) เรียกงายๆ วา เอกเถราปเทส

ในคัมภีรรุนฎีกา (เชน องฺ.ฏี. 2/443) เรียกขอที่ 3 วา คณาปเทส (Gaõàpadesa) และขอที่
4 วา ปุคคลาปเทส (Puggalàpadesa)

not allowable and goes against what is allowable, is not allowable.)
